A Spiritual Gift Test by AssessME.org
The Old and New Testaments Teach Three Forms of Giftedness:
OLD TESTAMENT SKILLS
In the Old Testament, God states that he is one who develops skills within his people (See Exodus 31:3). For this reason, AssessME.org includes the Old Testament skill-gifts of Creativity and of Music/Worship. Why? Because these skill-gifts are taken from examples of Old Testament skills God ordained for his Temple’s Gatekeepers (See 1 Chronicles 23:5) and Craftsmen. In addition, AssessME.org also provides for organic Skills tracking.
NEW TESTAMENT PRACTICAL GIFTS
The Practical Gifts comprise the majority of the gifts listed within the New Testament. Surprisingly, however, many people are unaware that these gifts are personality-dependent. This means that how the gift is utilized will depend upon the personality God has given each gifted person. The practical gifts, along with the two Old Testament skill-gifts, comprise our default GraceGifts gift-list. When these gifts are filtered through personality, the results are called “Gift Expressions“. So, AssessME.org tracks each person’s practical gift results, as well as their related Gift Expressions.
NEW TESTAMENT REVELATORY GIFTS
Revelatory gifts are sometimes referred to a “self-evident” gifts. We believe these gifts are works of grace which the Holy Spirit accomplishes through his people in a way that our personalities do not impact the use of these gift. So, for example, the Holy Spirit may inspire someone to pray over a sick person resulting in her healing. In this way, God “revealed” this gift of grace through the one who prayed. But, the personality of the one who prayed was not a factor in how the healing took place. Additionally, the Holy Spirit may never again use this person to heal others. We marked the Revelatory Gifts in our gift-list below with an asterix. These gifts may be turned-on within our GraceGifts spiritual gifts test, at no additional cost.
