GraceGifts Spiritual Gifts Test

THE BENEFIT TO YOUR CHURCH

Most spiritual gift surveys fail to explain how people prefer to use their gifts, leaving leaders guessing. Not so with our GraceGift’s Gift Expressions! You’ll know exact applications for each person.

The GraceGifts© spiritual gifts test from AssessME.org is one of the finest tools available to help church leaders find and manage volunteers.

Note: You can view the full list of spiritual gifts on the right side or bottom of your screen, depending on the device you’re using.

By default, our spiritual gifts test utilizes the practical gifts, which are affected by one’s temperament. We call these temperament filtered results, “Gift Expressions.”

At no additional cost, if your church desires, you may activate the Revelatory List of gifts (these have a * next to them in the list). This special category of gifts is addressed near the end of this page.

GraceGifts is part of a group of assessment tools that work together to help people get mobilized into ministry service. We recommend using the spiritual gifts test along side our ePersonality© and Leadership Style© assessments. When used together, they provide cross-validation for one another, checking results to ensure each assessment is accurate.

AssessME.org is the only platform that clarifies spiritual gift results by filtering spiritual gifts through personality traits. This helps people understand better how they will apply their spiritual gifts in real ministry situations. We call these special results “Gift Expressions.”

Take a look at the screenshots of the GraceGifts© management interface below. You can see the “Gift Expressions” in the second image.

The AssessME.org administrative dashboard includes a search engine that helps your church staff search the database not only for primary giftings (look for the black labels); it also allows staff to find people who match related Gift Expressions as well as other combinations of personality, leadership style, skills, and spiritual maturity. Church staff can create any profile combination within the Search Engine and the people who most closely match will be listed for review.

The AssessME.org Ministry Dashboard also includes an automated search function. This automated program assesses data from all of the assessments and skills tracking and presents “The Most Validated People” for broad service functions. The people listed by this program do not include all potential candidates, simply those who based upon the data the system identifies as “Most Validated“. In the screenshot below, the system has identified only six people that are the most validated Administrators in the database. Select the link for the six people to view their profiles.

Spiritual Gifts, Gift Expressions, & Cross-Validation

Each person’s Gift Expressions should closely match their ePersonality© and Leadership Style© assessment reports. This is part of our cross-validation system to make sure the assessment results are accurate. (Please note that not all gifts are shown below.)

The Bible teaches three distinct categories of Spiritual Gifts

People often argue about how many Spiritual Gifts are mentioned in the Bible. These debates usually stem from different traditions. However, we don’t focus on those arguments. Instead, we look at the whole Bible and see that there are three main categories of giftedness…

Old Testament Skill-Based Spiritual Gifts

About Skills: In the Old Testament, God says that He gives us our skill-abilities (Exodus 31:3). That’s why GraceGifts© includes Old Testament skill-gifts like Creativity and Music/Worship. God gave these skills for special roles, such as Temple Gatekeepers and Craftsmen (1 Chronicles 23:5). In essence, these are Old Testament spiritual gifts granted to us by the Holy Spirit.

Practical Operational Spiritual Gifts

The Practical Spiritual Gifts, which are primarily found in the New Testament, are the main focus of our spiritual gift test. How a person uses their gift depends on their personality. Personality filtered gifts are called Gift Expressions. Our gift list includes skill-based gifts from both the New and Old Testaments. These gifts comprise our default spiritual gift list.

Revelatory Spiritual Gifts

Revelatory spiritual gifts, which are also known as “self-evident gifts”, are spiritual gifts that the Holy Spirit displays through people in the moment. In fact, John Wimber, founder the Vineyard church movement, categorized these gifts as “Gifts of Divine Intervention“.

Unlike practical gifts, these gifts are not directly held by the Christian, and so they are not influenced by one’s personality. The Holy Spirit manifests the gift through an individual, so for example, God may inspire you to pray over a sick person and the person is healed. Your personality did not influence the effectiveness of the prayer, nor may the Lord ever again utilize you for the healing of another infirmed person. The healing was a “Gift of Divine Intervention”.

Please note, some theological traditions view Prophecy only as “Holy Spirit-inspired preaching” from the Greek rendering “To speak forth”. Because of this interpretation, we have now added Prophecy to the default gift list. (See the related Gift Expressions in the table above).
